21 mai 2015: The Role of Artists Foundations in the Art Market

market
Established to serve a public benefit, artist-endowed foundations take on a complex role. These foundations are essentially dedicated to the promotion, conservation, preservation and charitable distribution of an artist’s oeuvre. Some of their activities have a direct bearing on the art market, such as when selling works that they own or offering an opinion on a presented work’s authenticity.

This seminar will gather the directors of artist-endowed foundations, art market players, collectors, lawyers and scholars from the United States, England and Switzerland to share their experiences of the best practices and legal challenges facing artists’ foundations today.
